Poem of William HermannsP336
A Different Class
I am better than you, and I shall slay your challenge with my mental fist. Dull creature, don't stand in my way! There are lords and servants in this world. My consciousness knows who I am. In youth, already. I unfurled my beingness and what is due to me. Born in a different class, I've pride and principle. Have you? You're born a wheel in the machine my forebears' genius visualized, while yours craved drink and the latrine. It wasn't I who made you low. God gives each man the place he fits. Dare you to kick and overthrow? The Good Book promises rewards to faithful servants who obey and speak with reverence of their lords. 'Twas Providence that placed me here. I am your pillar and your purse and fill your day with hope and cheer. In your next life you will be up, when you accept your station now and do not grab my silver cup. I go to church, why don't you go? I built the church so you can pray. God's handiwork conveys his law. Your next life is one glorious day William Hermanns [P336] Note: P336.
