To My Neighbor

I lift you higher,
lift you out
of your body cells
stuffed with anxiety
of your past -
an evil load that smells.

I'll fill each cell
with love and joy
that makes the
angels dance.
You'll glide through earthly
filth and stench -
a spiritual trance.

From your youth filled eyes,
your hands
and feet,
a holy peace shall flow,
so you and I
be filled with grace -
let us be still
and know.

In the beginning was the Only
and the Only is Vibration.
I am the Only individualized.
I vibrate His creative purpose
with every breath I breathe.
Every cell in me is
Cosmic Wisdom, flesh-enshrined.

Note: P528. In the beginning was the Only; (original title "To Ken"); Stanford, September 1979. Found in the Red Book. The poet's son Ken read this poem to the author on his deathbed on April 6, 1990 and at the Memorial Service in Spartan Chapel.
