To My Neighbor

I lift you higher,
lift you out
of your body cells
stuffed with anxiety
of your past -
an evil load that smells.

I'll fill each cell
with love and joy
that makes the
angels dance.
You'll glide through earthly
filth and stench -
a spiritual trance.

From your youth filled eyes,
your hands
and feet,
a holy peace shall flow,
so you and I
be filled with grace -
let us be still
and know.

Seelentränen sind Gedichte,
rot mit Herzblut aufgeschrieben,
tiefem Menschenleid zum Ruhm,

Lies sie still in reinem Lichte,
unbeschattet,
frei von Trieben:
Du betrittst ein Heiligtum.

Oh Religion

Whatever religion there is
it deals with the human beast.
A thousand religions - no change.
Hell has its feast.

Two thousand years the Christ,
oh how the sermons flow,
confessions, sacraments,
and how the atoms grow!

Said Moses, "Thou shall not kill."
Said Jesus, "Love your neighbor."
Two wars, the Cross ahead.
I marched with killing saber.

With the planet on our back,
we enter without fail
the apocalyptic gate.
Who lives to tell this tale?

The mass mind has no chance.
The soul only can hope
through a loophole in thousand traps
with the Spirit to elope.
