To My Neighbor

I lift you higher,
lift you out
of your body cells
stuffed with anxiety
of your past -
an evil load that smells.

I'll fill each cell
with love and joy
that makes the
angels dance.
You'll glide through earthly
filth and stench -
a spiritual trance.

From your youth filled eyes,
your hands
and feet,
a holy peace shall flow,
so you and I
be filled with grace -
let us be still
and know.

Seelentränen sind Gedichte,
rot mit Herzblut aufgeschrieben,
tiefem Menschenleid zum Ruhm,

Lies sie still in reinem Lichte,
unbeschattet,
frei von Trieben:
Du betrittst ein Heiligtum.

Ego and Providence

When I was young I had the will
to play the rhythm of the earth.
When I was high, when I was low,
the earth rose up and down with me;
on ego-waves I carried all along.
I spoke: "I am my destiny.
My will is powerful and free!"

Now I am old and have outgrown the earth.
My ego daily tiptoes into space
to meet its truer self and speaks:
"Come Sister Providence, you carry me
on spiritual waves."
And up and down I move
in cradling rhythm.
Her will is now my will:
I know and I am still.
