Poem of William HermannsP158 A Christmas Story
How love walks hand in hand with them. Each step regenerates their love and tells the tale of Bethlehem. Toward the promised land they walk; the eye weaves threads of love to eye; a silent dialogue is love's talk. On the threads of love there glides along a moonbeam, glides from eye to eye. Oh how they glisten warm and strong. And my young lovers walk no more. They have arrived in Bethlehem. There is the Inn, the stable of yore. They, hand in hand, walk to the crib. No child? They did not come in vain, for love walks hand in hand with wonder: the cradle smiles again. William Hermanns [P158] Note: written 11/16/1976 in Arcadia, California |
