Poem of William HermannsP150 Am I Not Your Son
Lord God, unveil to me your face, although your will be done. Yet why should not my will be yours, am I not your son? You promised once another son, "All what I have is thine." Lord, let my eyes be plunged in yours, enable them to shine. We pass the Red Sea once again; filled with despair and sighs. To help my brother, need light: Take over, God, my eyes. If our crossing means the end, Armageddon waits on shore. Oh God, give me your light to see: One man's plea saved before. William Hermanns [P150] Note: P150. Am I Not Your Son; Stanford; 1980 |
